A minor league baseball player presents to the orthopedic clinic with a chief complaint of right shoulder pain. He reports the pain worsens whenever his throwing arm is maximally externally rotated during his wind-up. He indicates the pain feels deep and posterior. On physical exam pain is reported when the arm is brought into 90° of abduction and maximal external rotation. He has a negative apprehension sign with 1+ passive anterior translation. His throwing arm has 30° less in a total arc of motion than his contralateral shoulder. An MRI is ordered. What MRI findings are expected based on this patient’s history and physical exam?
