A 60-year-old male presents to your clinic with left hip pain that radiates through the anterior groin, down the medial thigh, and occasionally past the knee. Pain is worsened when going up stairs and walking uphill. Radiographs of his left hip demonstrate moderate osteoarthritis. He reports having tried physical therapy in the past without benefit and is eventually scheduled for total hip arthroplasty. Surgery is uneventful, but at his subsequent follow-up visits he complains of minimal pain improvement compared to preoperatively. Inflammatory markers have returned to normal and he is otherwise well-appearing. What is the next best step in management of this patient?
