A 33-year-old alcoholic male presents with right foot pain and progressively worsening flat foot deformity. He states this has been present for several years, but cannot recall a specific injury. He does, however, note waking up one morning with an extensively swollen foot and plantar ecchymosis. He eventually "walked this off," but his foot never felt the same. He has not tried physical therapy, medications, orthoses, or activity modifications. He appears to have tenderness on the dorsal and plantar aspects of his medial midfoot. He has a supple hindfoot and 5/5 strength in all his major muscles groups. His current imaging is in Figures A and B. What is the most appropriate treatment at this time?
