Review Question - QID 215461

QID 215461 (Type "215461" in App Search)
A 56-year-old left-handed computer programmer from rural New Hampshire presents with 1 year of right-hand discomfort and progressive flexion contracture. While he had usually enjoyed LARPing, he has not had an interest in social activities since he lost all of his money on a short-squeeze of a popular gaming stock. He does not recall a specific traumatic event. On exam, the entire hand is tender to palpation. Any type of passive motion elicits a significant amount of pain throughout the hand and volar forearm, but all compartments are soft and supple. (Figure A) All imaging and electrodiagnostic studies are normal. The wise hand surgeon recommends simultaneous aggressive therapy and psychiatric support. What diagnosis is most likely in this unfortunate patient?
