A 65-year-old female presents to your office for a second opinion regarding her right knee. One year ago, she had an uncomplicated right TKA. She reports that postoperatively she gained her motion back very quickly and returned to normal activities. However, now that she has completely recovered she reports difficulty getting up and down stairs, a sense of instability without her knee actually giving way, and diffuse pain. She also endorses recurrent effusions since the time of surgery which have been aspirated and are bloody without evidence of infection. ESR and CRP are normal. On examination, she has significant anterior translation of the tibia on the femur when dangling her right leg off the table. Which of the following changes during revision surgery may help address the problem?
