QID 210553 (Type "210553" in App Search)
A 25-year-old woman presents to the emergency department with a right ankle grade III inversion injury. She is immobilized in a boot and made weight bearing as tolerated. At her 4-week follow up, she complains of severe right ankle burning pain and inability to bear weight. On exam, she has no swelling but exquisite tenderness to palpation over the anterolateral ankle and dorsolateral foot that is exaggerated by plantarflexion and foot inversion. Repeat radiographs are unchanged. MRI demonstrates a tear of the anterior talofibular ligament. What is the most likely diagnosis?
