T2 Alpha Femur Retrograde Design Alpha Femur Retrograde Nail The T2 Alpha Femur Retrograde Nailing System is intended for temporary stabilization of bone segments or fragments until bone consolidation has been achieved. The locking configuration was designed for distal and diaphyseal femur fracture fixation. Advanced Nail Design Locking Configuration: Features 7 distal locking options and the 4 most distal screw options placed from 6-32mm from the driving end of the nail in three planes of fixation. Improved anatomic fit: Length dependent radius of curvature (.70-1.35mm) Variable distal posterior bend (1-5 degrees) allows for both a standard entry and more posterior start point in periprosthetic fractures Additional Stability Advanced Locking Screws: designed with oversized threads which engage with internal threads of the T2 Alpha Femur Retrograde Nail, thereby limiting relative movement between the nail and the screw, providing increased axial fracture stability in any 5mm round locking hole when the surgeon chooses. IMN Locking Screws: IMN locking screw design provides increased fatigue strength compared to competition. Femur Condyle Screws: Adjustable condyle screws allow for a range of 2mm longer or 5mm shorter than the actual condyle screw length for compression of femur condyle fragments. Controlled Compression: Up to 10mm of controlled compression can be applied through the nail using an internal or external compression method. This allows for a more controlled reduction of the fragments when compared to the traditional backslapping method. Proximal Targeting Arm: Designed to provide reproducible locking and reduce the total number of x-ray shots compared to freehand locking. Indications The indications for use of these internal fixation devices include: Open and closed femoral fractures. Pseudoarthrosis and correction osteotomy Pathologic fractures, impending pathologic fractures and tumor resections. Supracondylar fractures, including those with intra-articular extension. Fractures involving osteopenic and osteoporotic bone. Fractures distal to a total hip prosthesis. Periprosthetic fractures. Nonunions and malunions.
