• ABSTRACT
    • A knowledge of the biomechanics, anatomy, and contact pattern of the patellofemoral joint provides the basis for the selection of a highly individualized program of rehabilitation for those with patellofemoral disease. The program of choice is one that minimizes high impact loading activities and avoids the generation of greater than physiologic contact stress unit loads at articular surfaces. Recommended exercises for rehabilitating the patellofemoral joint include isometrics, terminal extension exercises, swimming, and cycling.
