A 64-year-old female with diabetes was admitted to our department a month ago with a trimalleolar fracture of the right ankle. Despite receiving various combinations of short- and long-acting insulin, her blood sugar remains uncontrolled, leading to the postponement of her surgery.
Today, a new X-ray revealed an ankle dislocation. Her skin condition is good, but her blood sugar level remains at 300.
