Galeazzi Fracture with Distal Ulna Fracture in an 18M

HPI

An 18-year-old right-hand dominant male with no significant past medical history presented to the emergency department following a high-speed motorcycle accident. The patient reported falling onto his outstretched right hand after being thrown from his bike during a collision. He recalls landing on the right side with axial loading and rotational force transmitted through the forearm.

PE

Obvious deformity of the distal forearm Moderate swelling and tenderness over distal radius and ulna. No open wounds or skin compromise. Palpation: Tenderness over distal third of radius and ulnar shaft. Pain with manipulation of distal radioulnar joint (DRUJ). Range of Motion: Severely limited due to pain. Elbow and shoulder: Full ROM, no tenderness
