Stuart Matthews is a Consultant Trauma Surgeon who initially trained in General Surgery in the Army. He finally switched to Orthopaedic Surgery, specialising in Orthopaedic Trauma. Stuart looked after multiply injured patients at the Major Trauma Centres and tertiary referral units when he left the Army in 1996, having been accelerated to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel before his time.
