Biography

Dr. Michael Cohn is a fellowship-trained board certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in disorders of the hand and arm (upper extremity). He treats common hand conditions, such as, carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome, trigger fingers, DeQuervain’s tenosynovitis, arthritis, and fractures (broken bones). In addition, he has extensive surgical experience in endoscopic carpal tunnel release, cubital tunnel release, fracture repair surgery of the hand to the shoulder and arthroscopic surgery. He was born and raised in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. After graduating from Pine Crest School in Ft. Lauderdale, he attended Vanderbilt University, where he graduated summa cum laude with a BS in Chemistry. He attended medical school at the University of Miami, where he was inducted into the exclusive Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He then completed a 5-year orthopedic surgery residency at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases in Manhattan. Following his orthopedic surgery residency, he completed an additional year of specialized fellowship training in surgery of the hand and upper extremity at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases.
