T2 Alpha Tibia Nail Design Tibia Nailing System The T2 Alpha Tibia Nailing System is intended for temporary stabilization of bone segments or fragments until bone consolidation has been achieved. Advanced Nail Design Locking configuration: 4 locking options proximally and 3 distal within 21mm. The most distal hole sits 5mm from the tip of the nail. Controlled Compression: Up to 7mm of controlled compression can be applied through the nail using an internal or external compression method. This allows for a more controlled reduction of the fragments when compared to the traditional backslapping method. Proximal 10-degree Herzog bend at 50mm 4-degree distal bend Suprapatellar Instrumentation T2 Alpha Tibia Suprapatellar system offers two size options of drill sleeves available to accommodate nail diameters 8-13mm Elastic nail insertion sleeve designed to serve as a working channel to protect the joint space WCH-coated fixation k-wires designed for secure fixation in tibial plateau to prevent anteriorization and back out of sleeves during reaming Streamlined Instrument Platform Basic instrument tray that is used across all T2 Alpha nailing indications and Gamma4 Ergonomic instrumentation that is designed to improve ease of use Guided Distal Targeter: Designed to provide reproducible locking and reduce the total number of x-ray shots compared to freehand locking. Provides 77% less radiation exposure, 64% shorter fluoroscopy time and 60% shorter intraoperative time for distal locking when compared to the freehand “perfect circles” method. Additional Stability: Advanced Locking Screw: Designed with oversized threads which engage with internal threads of the T2 Alpha Femur Retrograde Nail, thereby limiting relative movement between the nail and the screw, providing increased axial fracture stability in any 5mm round locking hole when the surgeon chooses. IMN Locking Screw: Fatigue strength is 30% stronger than the traditional locking screw Indications The indications for use of this internal fixation device include: Open and closed tibia fractures Pseudarthrosis and correction osteotomy Pathologic fractures, impending pathologic fractures, and tumor resections Nonunion and malunion Fractures involving osteopenic and osteoporotic bone Approaches Infrapatellar approach Suprapatellar approach Technical specifications Nail diameters Ø8mm – Ø15mm Nail length 240mm – 420mm in 15mm increments Compression Screw Tibia End Cap Lower Extremity and End Caps Tibia Screws T2 Alpha Tibia Nail T2 Alpha Tibia Nail Locking Screws Ø5mm, 25mm – 120mm length Ø4mm, 20mm - 60mm for 8mm nails (distal screws only) 25mm - 60mm in 2.5mm increments 60mm - 120mm in 5mm increments Advanced Locking Screws Ø5mm, 30mm – 100mm length Ø4mm, 27 .5mm - 60mm for 8mm nails (distal screws only) 30mm - 60mm in 2.5mm increments 60mm - 100mm in 5mm increments Drills 4.2mm drill for all 5.0mm screws; 5.5mm counterbore drill for advanced locking screws 3.5mm drill for all 4.0 screws; 4.5mm drill for 4.0 Advanced Locking Screws *4.0 screws only used distally in 8mm implant
