Targeted Muscle Reinnervation(TMR) has previously been used for Myo-electric control of Prosthesis. With this new adaptation and application of TMR, Professor Munjed Al Muderis uses this technique for amputees with phantom limb pain. TMR involves redirection of the nerves to motor branches to muscles, thus giving the parent nerve a conduit to transmit along and helps in relieving pain.
