Dr. Jean-Jacques Abitbol is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in spinal surgery at California Spine Group based in San Diego with four other locations in southern California. Dr. Abitbol holds hospital affiliations at Scripps Mercy, Scripps Memorial, and Sharp Memorial hospitals. Dr. Abitbol earned his medical degree from the University of Ottawa in Canada. He completed an internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery at McGill University in Montreal. Dr. Abitbol advanced his training and experience during a spine fellowship program at Mount Sinai Hospital and Toronto General Hospital under John Kostuik, MD. Dr. Abitbol is past president of the North American Spine Society (NASS), and serves on the board of directors for the Cervical Spine Research Society (CSCR).
