Biography

Matthew was born and raised in New Jersey. He attended The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) where he served as a voting member on the Board of Trustees. Upon graduation, Matthew was commissioned into the United States Army via the Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP) to attend Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM-Erie) where he was inducted into the Sigma Sigma Phi honor society and awarded the Charles F. and Ruth K. Blatt Military Service Award. Matthew served as Chief of Research at the collaborative military-civilian orthopedic surgery program between William Beaumont Army Medical Center and Texas Tech Health of El Paso. He is now an attending at Martin Army Community Hospital. Matthew has authored or co-authored over 25 peer-reviewed publications, serves as a teaching fellow for the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) medical school, and is an active member of multiple orthopedic organizations (AAOS, SOMOS, OTA, MSTS). Matthew will be serving his military commitment as an orthopedic generalist and plans to complete two fellowships thereafter: (1) adult hip and knee reconstruction and (2) musculoskeletal oncology. He values mentorship in orthopedic surgery, resident education, going on long-distance runs, and spending time with his wife and three energetic boys.
