The radiographs and histology are consistent with a clear cell chondrosarcoma. The treatment is wide resection. No chemotherapy is indicated because this is a locally aggressive tumor with minimal risk of metastasis. Intralesional curettage may be appropriate for a benign bone tumor but not for a clear cell chondrosarcoma. Amputation and radiation therapy are not indicated to achieve local disease control. This case illustrates the occasional problems with diagnosis of this tumor.
