Dr. Matthew P. Abdel is the Chair of the Surgical and Procedural Practice at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and the Andrew A. and Mary S. Sugg Professor of Orthopedic Surgery. He specializes in complex primary and revision total hip and knee arthroplasties, periprosthetic joint infections, periprosthetic fractures, and complex oncologic reconstructions around the hip and knee. Dr. Abdel is also active in research and education, mentoring surgical residents and fellows, and has authored numerous publications in high-impact scientific journals.
