As a board-certified and fellowship-trained joint replacement surgeon, Stefan Kreuzer, MD, has pioneered the development in Minimally-Invasive and Computer-Assisted hip and knee replacement surgery. He is also appointed as an Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine. He serves on several medical advisory boards and is actively involved in training, lecture and demonstration of surgical techniques for surgeons all over the world. Dr. Kreuzer acts as consultant to many device companies to assist them with further advancing care for patients. As the founder of INOV8 Research in 2019, he is involved with many clinical research studies in addition to his clinical practice, and has devoted his career to improving the quality-of-life for the patient in need of joint replacement surgery. A native of Switzerland, Dr. Kreuzer moved to the United States in 1983. He graduated from medical school at the University of Texas in San Antonio in 1995, and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. He then undertook a fellowship in Adult Joint Reconstruction at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas in 2001. Dr. Kreuzer has performed over 15K hip and knee joint replacement surgeries and is one of the few pioneers in the world to also perform revision total hip replacement through the anterior approach. Dr. Kreuzer is a world expert on robotic knee joint replacement surgery. He is currently using the Corin ApolloKnee™ for every outpatient total knee arthroplasty, primary and revision. He also uses the Naviswiss imageless navigation system for all of his total hip replacement surgeries, primary and revision. Dr. Kreuzer performs the majority of his hip and knee surgeries, in the ambulatory surgical center (ASC), INOV8 Surgical at Memorial City. Our ASC is a specialized facility that provides surgical services and the same-day discharge care. This allows for quicker recovery, smoother postoperative duration and a better outcome.
