Hi, I'm Russell DeGroote MD FRCSC, ?CEO of SEAK Medical Center. I love to be out of my comfort zone. I have always loved it. Whether I was playing hockey, rugby, motor cross racing, steer wrestling or learning a new language, I have always wanted to live my life to the fullest. My goal as an orthopedic surgeon is to enable you to do the same. To get you back into the game of life. For me, discovering holistic care took time. I realized that there was no limit to what the mind and body can accomplish. After 25 years of caring for professional athletes from the USHL, AHL, NHL and NFL, I have decided to bring this approach to Alaska. Since becoming an orthopedic surgeon, I have surrounded myself with people that I admire, people that inspire, people that have something to teach, and from whom I can learn. I know that learning a new way of doing things is a challenge, but with the right set of skills and abilities, anything and everything is possible.
