Dr. Michael M. Marushack is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in sports medicine and joint replacement. He practices at EmergeOrtho's Brunswick Forest Cutlar Crossing and Shallotte offices in North Carolina. Dr. Marushack completed his medical degree at the University of Utah School of Medicine, followed by an orthopedic surgery residency at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. During his residency, he conducted research on bone metabolism, resulting in several scientific publications. He further specialized through a sports medicine fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, AL, focusing on the treatment of shoulder, knee, and elbow injuries, as well as hip and knee replacements. Dr. Marushack is actively involved in the community, serving as Team Physician for local high schools and Brunswick Community College. He has held leadership roles such as Chief of Staff and Chairman of the Surgery Department at Dosher Hospital and has been a member of the Board of Directors at Brunswick Hospital. At the state level, he has served on the Board of the North Carolina Athletic Board of Athletic Trainers Examiners and is the President Elect of the North Carolina Orthopedic Association. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities with his wife and two children, including mountain biking, hiking, and traveling.
