Biography

Dr. Melvin P. Rosenwasser is the Robert E. Carroll Professor of Surgery of the Hand in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Professor of Surgery at Columbia University Medical Center. He serves as the Chief of the Hand & Upper Extremity Service and the Chief of the Trauma Service. Dr. Rosenwasser has expertise in orthopedic hand, elbow, and trauma surgery, accommodating traumatic orthopedic extremity problems as well as arthritic and congenital anomalies of the upper extremity. He has been co-principal investigator on numerous NIH grants and has authored many book chapters and peer-reviewed articles on upper extremity and trauma-related surgeries. Recognized in New York Magazine's 'Best Doctors in New York' Hall of Fame, Dr. Rosenwasser has also served as the hand consultant for the New York Yankees since 1989.
