ABSTRACT

Tibial plafond fractures are difficult to treat successfully because of the many factors that must be addressed accurately for a patient to have an optimal outcome. A thorough understanding of the fracture patterns requires careful evaluation of the injury and traction radiographs and the traction CT scan. Recognizing the consistent fracture patterns and fragments will assist with choosing a surgical approach, affecting a fracture reduction, and optimizing patient outcomes.Level of Evidence: Diagnostic Level V, expert opinion.
