Biography

Matthew Krause is the Director of Strength and Conditioning for the New York Yankees Major League Baseball (MLB) organization. He came to the Yankees after serving 11 seasons in the Cincinnati Reds MLB organization. Prior to joining the Reds, Krause spent three years in the Pittsburgh Pirates MLB system, where he served as the Strength Coach at Class-A Hickory (2000) and then as the Minor League Strength and Conditioning Coordinator (2001 – 2002). Krause earned his Master’s degree in Physical Education and Wellness from Central Florida University. He is a Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach with Distinction (RSCC*D) and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® with Distinction (CSCS,*D®) from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and a National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) Certified Athletic Trainer. Krause is a former member of the United States Marine Corps.
