Biography
Dr. Kevin Tetsworth is a staff surgeon at the Royal Brisbane Hospital, and now the CONROD Professor of Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery. As an experienced physician with more than 25 years of specialization and training in orthopaedics, he takes an individualised approach to caring for his patients.
His focus is on the management of complex skeletal trauma as well as difficult revision total joint reconstruction. Dr. Tetsworth's specialty interests include staged correction of failed infected total joint replacement, deformity correction, limb lengthening, and post-traumatic limb salvage. His reputation is based on his success when treating some of the most difficult and complicated cases, often those that have failed to respond after prior procedures.
He studied Ilizarov reconstructive surgery with Dror Paley in Baltimore, Maryland, and then as George Cierny's fellow in Atlanta, Georgia studying the management of osteomyelitis and musculoskeletal infection. After initially practicing at the University of Maryland (Baltimore) for almost 10 years, he relocated to Australia in 2000 and where he has exclusively dedicated himself to work in the public hospital system.
