Biography
Dr. Shilt is the Chief of Community Surgery at Texas Children's Hospital and an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. After nearly 9 years in academic medicine as the residency program director and Associate Professor at Wake Forest University, he spent 8 additional years in private practice in Boise, Idaho in Pediatric Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. Dr. Shilt has given over 100 presentations internationally, authored more than 40 articles, 8 book chapters and has been the primary or co-investigator on research grants totaling more than $1 million. He most recently co-authored a chapter in Joe Friel and Gordo Byrn's book on triathlon training, Going Long.
