Gamma4 Design Trochanteric Nail The Gamma4 Trochanteric Nail is 170mm long and has a 4º ML bend. Diameter options include 9,10,11,12 and 13mm. It is offered in CCD angles 120, 125, and 130 degrees. Shortened Proximal Body Proximal diameter of Ø15.5mm The distance from the proximal tip of the nail to the Lag Screw has been reduced by 5mm compared to the legacy system. A bevel was added as well for less trochanteric protrusion. Optional end caps available Straight Shaft for Universal Application Due to the straight shaft, the Gamma4 trochanteric nail can be universally applied (left/right sides). Medial Bevel for Nail Insertion Medial bevel added to the distal tip of the nail to ease insertion into the canal. Indications The Gamma4 Trochanteric Nails are indicated for the treatment of stable and unstable fractures as well as for stabilization of bones and correction of bone deformities in the intracapsular and trochanteric regions of the femur (including osteoporotic and osteopenic bone). The RC Lag Screw is also indicated for use to support rotationally unstable fractures. The RC lag screw is a combination between a standard lag screw and a blade, increasing the surface area of the lag screw by up to 2.4mm Approaches It is acknowledged that several alternative approaches to certain elements of the procedure are available, and may have advantages for particular situations or surgeons.
