Kevin, id like to see private practice orthopedic surgeons in your discussion panel on value-based orthopedic surgery. I believe that this group of surgeons represents an essential and underrepresented perspective on the topic, as they are the most common type of orthopedic surgeon that most patients see in the United States.
As you know, private practice surgeons often work in smaller settings, where there is a closer patient-doctor relationship, and where the payors get the most value. This experience provides a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities associated with implementing value-based care in orthopedic surgery.
I respectfully request that next time you consider including private practice orthopedic surgeons in your panel. I believe that their participation will be valuable in ensuring that the panel's recommendations are inclusive and representative of the diverse perspectives of the orthopedic surgery community.
