Periprosthetic Femur Fracture in 71 M

HPI

A 71-year-old male presents to the trauma bay after sustaining a ground level fall and landing on his right leg. He admits to severe right thigh and knee pain. He reports undergoing an uncomplicated right total hip arthroplasty 5 years prior and had been doing well without pain prior to her fall. He denies any numbness and tingling of the right leg.

PMH

PMH: COPD, CAD PSH: Right THA (5 years prior)

PE

Focused physical examination of the right lower extremity reveals a well healed prior posterior hip incision without any open wounds. He has TTP about the right thigh. Pain with log roll or any manipulation of the right leg. He is neurovascularly intact.
