Letournel’s [11] classification system is an anatomic and radiographic description of fracture patterns correlated with operative findings. Specific fracture patterns emerged based on mechanism of injury, the vector of injury forceapplication, anatomy of the innominate bone, and its mechanical properties. Despite dividing fractures into 10 subsets, Letournel [11] believed that acetabular fractures represent a spectrum of injury, because incomplete fracture lines and combined fracture patterns were common.
