In Figure 79b the arrow marks the semimembranosus muscle, which is more medial than the semitendinosus muscle at this level, which is seen more lateral. The biceps femoris is more lateral still, and the adductor magnus is medial and deep to the marked semimembranosus. The gracilis is superficial to the adductor magnus muscle and is the most medial structure.
